SNEJANKA – “Snow White”(снежанка)
Cucumber salad – classic recipe
INGREDIENTS
- Yoghurt – 2200ml or 770g of Strained Yoghurt
- Pickles – 650g
- Garlic – 4 cloves
- Salt – 2 tea spoons
- Oil – 80 ml
- Walnuts – 80g
- Fresh Dill – a handful
INSTRUCTIONS
Strain the yoghurt (if you are using normal yoghurt). Add finely chopped dill, oil, salt-crushed garlic, ground walnuts and mix well.

TARATOR – (таратор)
Cold cucumber soup – classic recipe
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cucumbers (about 500g)
- 500g Bulgarian yogurt
- 400 ml of water
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- (Optional) 2-3 tablespoons of crushed walnuts
- A bunch of dill
- 2-3 tablespoons of sunflower oil
- Salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Beat the yogurt with a fork until it becomes liquid. Pour it into a bowl and add the water. Mix it well.
- Cut the cucumbers into cubes and put them in a separate bowl.
- To the bowl with the cucumber add the garlic, walnuts (optional), dill, oil and as much salt as you like. Then mix everything well.
- Lastly pour the yogurt you mixed with water into the bowl with the cucumbers and stir well. Add salt if needed.
- Serve cold.
