My name is Aida, I’m 28 years old and I’m from Spain.

Most of my work experiences are related to the Physiotherapy Bachelor that I studied in Granada (Spain) and in Catanzaro (Italy). In spite of that, I like working in other matters. In fact, I was also working like projects assistant in Florence (Italy) with a ‘’Leonardo da Vinci’’ grant. My tasks were, mainly, to help in documents related to the projects and to guide the participants on different items like accommodation, stage place, Italian course  and other mobility opportunities.

That is why, when my last contract ended, I decided to search for a voluntary service. I really wanted to do it since long time ago because I think it’s a good opportunity to develop new skills and to grow as a person.

I chose Open Space Foundation because I liked its goals like cultural and historic activities and promotion of the mobility. As well, I wanted to discover an easter country, different to my previous experiencies like worker and student in Belgium and in Italy.

In my volunteering, I have developed many different activities:

  • Workshops in a high school for promoting the European Voluntary Service.
  • Helping children to paint a wall with traditional bulgarian shapes for promoting Bulgarian culture and art.
  • Helping children in a event about European Cultural Heritage.
  • Collaboration like a model in a Fashion show for promoting the traditional bulgarian and african costumes.
  • Trainings about volunteering.
  • Training about migration policy in Europe.
  • Website updating.
  • Helping in the organisation of a Short-term volunteering in Veliki Preslav (Bulgaria).
  • Promotion and advertising of Veliki Preslav.

In addition, for my personal project I have created a low cost guide of Sofia:

The idea of this guide came from my personal guides I always do when I travel; I love travelling but I have very bad memory, so I always write down the names of all the places I like. My idea is to publish and to share the guide with next volunteers and with everyone who is interesting in. :)

I don’t know what I will do when I finish my project but I just know I want to follow collecting more experiences like this one. I really want to visit India, so I’m thinking about doing another volunteering there.
