This day is celebrated on 8th March every year globally.
The day is about global celebrations of different achievements by women across all nations and apart from that, it is also known as a UNITED NATIONS DAY for women’s rights and international peace.
Women are recognized by their achievements regardless of their backgrounds and where they come from.
Different nations and cultures are not the matter, it’s all about celebrating womanhood and the hustles as a woman.
There is a big difference in celebrating the women’s day here in Bulgaria in comparison to my country, Uganda.
In Uganda, women are honored at work with kind bosses , they always surprise the ladies in different ways like parties and day out, if you are lucky, you may not go to work at all.
Despite the fact that some are mothers, women are given total respect by their husbands. This is the one day they can get away with almost anything, men actually become kinder on that day.
At home, husbands help out with the chores, taking care of the children and showering their wives with different surprises and presents.
Boyfriends also try to keep up, buying flowers and other special gifts for their special ladies.
Bulgaria on the other hand has a total different way of celebrating this special day.
I found that, women here go to work on this day, no day offs but the spoiling is still the same.
Men surprise them with flowers and if you are lucky maybe a dinner date.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not just about lovers, mothers, sisters, friends are all included.
To respect this day, women decide to give eachother company, bringing up the GIRL POWER SPIRIT!!
I would like to advice all women from across the world to spend this blessed day loving each other, respecting one another and most of all to live to the fullest. Use this day to love and know more about yourself, besides, it is one of the few days we can openly admit that we rule the world.
