Offline – no filters, no hate

Offline – no filters, no hate: a crime game about incel culture

Victoria Mileva takes us into the world of board games, but with an unexpected and profound social twist. Her project is not just entertainment, but a psychological journey through the dark corners of online space and incel culture.

Project Goal

The main goal of the game is to provoke empathy and understanding of the complex social mechanisms that lead to radicalization and online violence. Through a criminal plot, Vicki puts players in a situation in which the boundaries between “abuser” and “victim” are blurred, and each move requires critical analysis of the evidence.

Who is it aimed at?

The project was created specifically for young people between the ages of 15 and 22. This is the period in which the search for identity and belonging often occurs online, and the risk of falling under harmful influence is greatest.

Power and Impact

The power of the project lies in its multi-layered and authentic design:

  • Interactive experience: Players encounter hacked passwords, fake profiles, and clues hidden both in physical space and on the Internet.
  • Empathy through role-playing: The game allows participants to literally “step into the shoes” of the characters, understanding their motivations and fears.
  • Authorial design: All visual materials and mechanics are the fruit of Vicky’s creativity, which gives the game a unique and modern look.

Recommendations and shared experiences

Victoria frankly shares her lessons from the creation process:

  • Vicky advises future initiators not to get carried away too early with the design alone. It is important that the content and logic of the “mechanics” go hand in hand with the vision.
  • The strength of the team: The process has shown that having a team to discuss and test is key to creating a realistic and balanced product.
