WHEN: 15.04.2024 – 30.05.2024 (45 days)
WHERE: Bulgaria,  Veliki Preslav town – the old (second) capital of Bulgaria,

WHAT:  The aim of this year’s project is to empower Veliki Preslav’s youth by helping them to realise their dream of an own mountainbike trail in Veliki Preslav village. To do so, we need people who are interested in trail planning and building. We strive to use as many (local) natural materials as possible, and we also want to make (at least) one more complex construction, like a wall-ride, table or … That’s up to the group of volunteers :)
Very important to us, is to involve the youth of the village in all steps we take, we will be helping them (instead of the other way round), so expect to be a valued mentor ;)
Due to planning reasons and high ambitions, (mainly during the first working week) there will be a side project in which we will work on a long distance cycling tour. This will involve cycling-excursions and working with (digital) maps.

PARTICIPANTS:
18 youth (18-29 years old) – International group, people from different countries
Eligible countries: EU and neighboring countries.
4 participants max per one country

PROFILE of participants:
Of course everyone is welcome to apply, but if you have experience with designing/building trails, carpentry or repairing bikes, that would help the project enormously! Furthermore, our participants should be able to collaborate with the youth, and share their enthousiasm for mountainbiking (and other sports).
We want to welcome organized planners who like to be well prepared, as well as people who live on trial and error, this will make collaboration interesting :)

WHAT SUPPORT is insured:
Program “European Solidarity Corps” ensured:
• Transport: refunded money will be calculated with the distance calculation tool of EU;
• Your accommodation will be arranged by OSF (our hosting organization)
• Money for food and personal expenses: 702 BGN in total, which is approximately 350 euro for 45 days. In Bulgaria this is enough to live from.
